Short of having Guinness spilt down the front of your shirt and your ear bitten off by your girlfriend, Streams of Whisky is the closest the armchair shamrock insurrectionist can get to the full-tilt thrill of a live Pogues concert. Nevertheless, this recording--taken from a live festival in Leysin, Switzerland in July has purportedly been released against the wishes of the band. Sure enough, there is ample and not entirely pitch-perfect between-song banjo tuning and sundry "technical shit" as Spider Stacey eloquently calls it but these hitches only add to the ramshackle air of live authenticity. I mean, so what if the carnival brass is hopelessly out of tune on "Fiesta"? Surely that's the point. Even so, somebody should have hit the sound engineer over the head with a beer tray for the disastrous mix on "Young Ned Of The Hill" certainly The Pogues' most under-appreciated song for Terry Woods' longstanding grievances against Oliver Cromwell struggle to be heard above The Pogues' magnificent instrumental ballast although the surplus, cod-reggae interlude remains a not-entirely essential oddity. No quibbles with the setlist, only the omission of "Fairy Tale of New York", for entirely practical reasons, stops this being the best of The Pogues. And just to debunk the myth that Shane MacGowan was The Pogues, the band sounds like an entirely different proposition when the diminutive Philip Chevron comes to the mic to sing his own Irish emigration saga " Thousands Are Sailing".

The Pogues are one of the great live acts of our time, but their concerts have been poorly documented on The Pogues are one of the great live acts of our time, but their concerts have been poorly documented on record. Streams of Whiskey is a re-release of a bootleg, Live on Rain Street , from a show in Switzerland. Typical for a bootleg, the sound is terrible and the performance is rough. The Pogues, who are planning an "official" live album from their reunion tour, are asking fans not to buy this: they weren't consulted on the release and aren't happy with the quality.

He has lived alone forever and now we are living together, engaged, and of course, I have moved to another state to be with him. You should ask Him what you should do, as no one else can see the end from the beginning and no one else has perfect love for you and for your potential husband. I think we need to steer far away from medicine…. To embrace each others needs and interests, it seems I am destined to long for this connection into eternity. No one should feel excluded from the House of the Lord. She's already past her prime in the Mormon dating market. I have a tendency to be overly sensative emotionally and the trauma of being forced to choose between someone I love and want to spend the rest of my with and Eternal Mormon Celestial Salvation caused me extensive emotional damage that I have struggled with ever since.
